With the solution of fingerprint authorisation at RICOH Germany documents can only be printed at the multifunctional printers, when users are collecting their documents directly at the MFP confirmed with a positive fingerprint match of authorised user before.
Individual access rights can be assigned. For e. g. it can be controlled which persons have access to scan or colour printing functions.
The fingerprint unit is connected via USB – the fingerprint archive is maintained on server centrally – fingerprint matching requests are executed on the server with the BREAL matching library. After positive match assigned functions are available or the initiated print job for the document is starting.
